The new tango originates from the traditional Argentinian tango and meets with the classical music, jazz, rock and contemporary music. In the early 60's Astor Piazzolla was the first to start this transformation. In his works he merges different musical experiences of a different periods; the vitality of Buenos Aires, the folklore of African origin, the musical experimentation of New York, the breath of European classical music and the improvisation forms.
