In Between Clouds And The Deep Sea

She won the Henkel Art.Award 2013, was a Villa Romana fellow in Florence in 2016, and, in the same year, was awarded the Ars Viva Prize. Most recently, she received the Ludwig Gies-Preis on the occasion of the 14th Triennale Kleinpastik Fellbach 2019 and was nominated for the Preis der Nationalgalerie 2019.

Leonie Radine is a curator based in Cologne. Since 2015 she has worked at the Museum Ludwig where she is currently preparing a transdisciplinary exhibition dedicated to the permeability of bodies, questions of representation and accessibility. Further recent curatorial projects include Haegue Yang’s survey exhibition ETA 1994–2018 and the experimental off-site exhibition HERE AND NOW at Museum Ludwig: Home Visit. Previously she worked as curatorial assistant to Yilmaz Dziewior at the Austrian Pavilion in the Venice Biennale 2015 and to Susanne Pfeffer at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin (2010–2013). She studied art history in Marburg and Berlin.

From June 26-30, Qendra Multimedia will bring to Prishtina the well known Kosovar artist Flaka Haliti and German curator Leonie Radine. The duos’ collaboration started in 2018 with Haliti’s solo show HERE OR RATHER THERE, IS OVER THERE at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana and continues with the upcoming exhibition HERE AND NOW at Museum Ludwig: Transcorporealities in Cologne.

In her work, Haliti intermingles various aesthetics and mundane objects in order to explore horizons, potential agencies, and alternative figurations beyond structural or political boundaries, simple concepts of belonging, and identity-related projections. Her transdisciplinary practice accounts for the diversity and movement of any subject position as well as the interdependencies within a complex net of power relations.

During their visit, Haliti and Radine will organize eye-to-eye meetings with 10 young and emerging artists in Pristina. In these meetings, 10 artists will have the opportunity to get feedback, advice and tips about their artistic work, how it can be developed further. Following these meetings, Qendra Multimedia is also organizing a public conversation in which the two of them will talk about Haliti’s work as well as their mutual projects and journeys.
