Another important component of the programme is support to local theatres, with a focus on Gjilan and Ferizaj.  They will be supported through several means, mainly through improving technical and creative skills of theatre staff, and promotion of produced plays. Through our international partners, the programme will invite international stage & light & costume designers and composers to train and advance the creative & technical staff in local theatres, improving the overall technical skills of production teams, thus the quality of the plays overall.

Subsequently, plays by local theatres and plays by Qendra Multimedia will be promoted locally in the Polip festival and in the Kosovo Theatre Showcase, with ample opportunities for international promotion and networking. Direct support to local theatres in capacity building and promotion will ensure a stable growth of this section of creative industry in Kosovo.

We’re happy to announce the launching of Kosovo Cultural Platform 2019+, supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation - SDC.  The aim of the programme is strengthening of local cultural development in Kosovo, as a tool for social change and economic development.

The Kosovo Cultural Platform 2019+ includes producing new plays and touring them in Kosovo, regionally and internationally, promoting the local theatre scene through Kosovo Theater Showcase 2019, supporting of the polip - International Literature Festival, and finally technical and infrastructural support to the theatre industry in Kosovo. A key part of this project will be touring of 5 plays produced by Qendra Multimedia, the ones that have gathered most public attention and are critically acclaimed. Plays will showcase diverse subjects, ranging from infringement of workers’ rights, LGBTI rights, and corruption in the health sector, immigration, and identity issues.
