International translation day
On 30 September, Qendra Multimedia marks the International Translation Day. During this event, we have invited translators of literature works that have dearly contributed in the translation of various books into Albanian.
In 2017, the General Assembly of the United Nations has declared the 30th September as the International Translation Day to celebrate the role of language professionals in connecting nations and fostering peace, understanding and development.
To discuss their work as translators, we have invited Anton Berishaj, professor at the Department of Albanian Language and Literature and literature translator, Gazmend Bërlajolli, literature translator and Qerim Ondozi, literature translator. During this event, Alexandra Channer, a translator of Albanian literature works into English, will join our discussion via Zoom.
During the program, actresses Arta Muçaj and Alketa Sylaj will read selected renowned literature.
This event will be transmitted to the Facebook page of Qendra Multimedia directly from Oda Theatre in Prishtina starting from 19:00.
The International Translation Day in Prishtina is supported by the Culture for Change program which is funded by European Union, managed by the EU Office in Kosovo and is implemented by Qendra Multimedia and Goethe-Institut.
