OPEN CALL FOR COLLABORATORS
Qendra Multimedia is working on a new theatre production that will open in Fall 2023. The theatre production titled ‘Negotiating Peace’ seeks to look into the peace negotiations that follow violent conflicts, especially in light of the recent Russian invasion in Ukraine. Considering various ‘peaceful agreements’ models from various wars and conflicts around the world, “NEGOTIATING PEACE” project will try to imagine how a ‘peace agreement’ could look: the background to it; the challenges it faces and the fear and hope that accompanies this entire process. In the field, peace emissaries, politicians and experts face the reality of people who are still suffering the pain and losses of the war.
Who can negotiate peace? Is that the duty of political leaders? Do they have the legitimacy to do so? Do people reconcile after the signing of an “act of peace?” What is the role of the apology from the party that has caused atrocities, murders and violence towards the other party? Can there be collective forgiveness, or is the latter an individual act? Who decides on reconciliation? Who should reconcile: politicians, governments or the ordinary people: those who most probably suffered the most from the war or conflict? Are among the questions we seek to address with this production.
For the purpose of this theatre performance, we are looking for artists of various profiles to join us; Actors; Set Designer; Composer; Ass. Director, etc. The production will take place at ODA Theatre in Prishtina between August-October 2023. Good English speaking skills are required.
If you are interested to join, please send us your portfolio at [email protected] with the subject “Negotiating Peace” by June 10th the latest.
