Under the theme TO THE LIGHTHOUSE, the 13th edition polip - International Literature Festival, kicks off in Prishtina on May 12.
This year, the festival celebrates its 13th edition and the final one in this format. Throughout the years, the stage of our festival has hosted hundreds of authors from all around the world in their readings and discussions about important topics for different societies and socio-political contexts. First and foremost, it has created a friendly environment of exchange, diversity and mutual respect. In this 13th edition, together with polip friends, we reflect on the impact that our joint work has had in the public.
TO THE LIGHTHOUSE edition kicks off with the traditional opening which is followed by readings by various authors and closed with a musical performance by Vala Mulliqi & Band. The following days, until May 14, readings by around 30 guest authors from the region and Europe, panel discussions, book promotions and music evenings will take place.
Some of this edition’s highlights are: The promotion of the monograph documenting 13 editions of polip: Sea of Change: polip – Prishtina International Literature Festival (12 editions in 13 turbulent years 2010-2022) by Natasha Tripney on May 13 at 17:00; The Wrong Language Tour with various authors from the region and Switzerland on May 15 at 20:00 as well as the promotion of the books Jazra Grozni Khaleed by Jazra Khaleed translated into Albanian by Eleana Zhako, published by Qendra Multimedia and “Shëtitje nëpër Srebrenicë” translated into Albanian by Fadil Bajraj. The authors and translators will be present in the conversation organized on May 14 at 19:30. This edition will be closed with a music evening by Malda Susuri & band.
All events of polip take place at ODA Theatre in Prishtina.
