The play “PRISHTINA. The Premeditated Killing of a Dream”, a production by Qendra Multimedia will be presented on 28 May 2026 as part of the Dramatiker:innenfestival, which takes place in Graz, Austria from 26 to 31 May 2026. The Dramatiker:innenfestival in Graz, Austria, is an international festival of contemporary dramaturgy and experimental theatre that brings together authors and theatre companies from different countries. It presents new performances, readings, and innovative artistic formats, and is considered an important European platform for contemporary theatre.

Within the festival, the play “Prishtina…” is part of the international theatre programme that addresses themes of the city, memory, and the human relationship with urban space. The play focuses on the story of architect Rexhep Luci and the transformation of Pristina after the war.

The performance creates a space for reflection on the importance of architecture, urban planning, and cultural heritage in the development of the city of Pristina. It offers a contemporary perspective, connecting to the reality in Kosovo and beyond, where unregulated construction is making urban spaces increasingly congested and less livable.

Through this perspective, the play gains a universal dimension, inviting the audience to reconsider the collective relationship and responsibility toward the city we live in and the way it develops.

The drama “PRISHTINA. The Premeditated Killing of a Dream” has received various reviews in the international press and has been successfully performed in Kosovo and abroad. “Prishtina: The Premeditated Killing of a Dream is not a rewriting, but a deep theatrical testimony — a narrative, an accusation, and perhaps an attempt at redemption” (Kosovo 2.0, International).

The performance is part of the project “Future Narratives for Planet Earth”, supported by the European Union through the Creative Europe programme. Project partners include: UniT Graz (Austria), Het Nieuwstedeljik (Belgium), Theatre Bellevue (Netherlands), CESIE ETS (Italy), Hessisches Landestheater Marburg GmbH (Germany), and MHTConsult (Denmark).
