International Playwrights Workshop with Mark Ravenhill
Call for Participants: “Fake It, Baby, Fake It Until Death Tears Us Apart”
We are thrilled to invite young and emerging playwrights, writers, and other theatre-makers to apply for the International Playwrights Workshop "Fake It, Baby, Fake It Until Death Tears Us Apart" led by acclaimed British playwright Mark Ravenhill. This intensive seven-day workshop will take place in Prizren (Kosovo) as part of the Kosovo Theatre Showcase 2026.
Over the course of the workshop, participants will experiment with playful, provocative, and innovative theatrical forms to explore the complexities of truth, and other notions like fabricated-truths, constructed and/or ‘publicly recognised truths’, etc. in relation to playwriting and to the theater. While the sessions will be conducted in English, participants are encouraged to write in any combination of languages that best suits their creative expression.
The program will center on hands-on writing exercises, complemented by group reflections and discussions.

Eligibility & Costs
Participants aged 18–50 from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Georgia, Ukraine, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina are eligible to apply free of charge. (Note: While participation is free and includes access to festival events and performances, travel and accommodation costs must be covered by the participants themselves.)
Applicants from other countries are welcome to apply as well but must pay a participation fee of 100 EUR and cover all personal expenses (travel, accommodation, food). Once you express your interest to participate, and once you are accepted, we will send you instructions on how to pay for the participation fee.

About Mark Ravenhill
Mark Ravenhill is one of the most celebrated and widely performed British playwrights of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His major works include Shopping and Fucking (1996), Some Explicit Polaroids (1999), Mother Clap’s Molly House (2000), The Cut (2006), Shoot Get Treasure Repeat (2007), and The Cane (2018). In 1999, he was among the recipients of the prestigious Europe Theatre Prize – Theatrical Realities, awarded to the Royal Court Theatre.
This workshop is organized by Qendra Multimedia (Prishtina) as part of the Kosovo Theatre Showcase 2026.
