Today on May 28, 2021, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of the Republic of Kosovo has awarded Blerta Neziraj the best theatre directing award for 2020 and Armend Smajli as the best actor of the year.

Blerta was awarded the prize for directing the play The Return of Karl May and Armend for the role of Kara Ben Nemsi in the same play.

The Return of Karl May by Jeton Neziraj premiered last year and is a co-production of Qendra Multimedia, National Theatre of Kosovo and Volksbühne Theatre in Berlin.

Other prizes awarded today to members of the theatrical community were: Best play of the year to Artpolis for The Awakening of Spring; the award for his lifelong contribution to the actor Enver Petrovci and the award for international representation to the actor Mentor Zymberaj.
