From June 26-30, Qendra Multimedia will bring to Prishtina the well known Kosovar artist Flaka Haliti and German curator Leonie Radine. The duos’ collaboration started in 2018 with Haliti’s solo show HERE OR RATHER THERE, IS OVER THERE at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana and continues with the upcoming exhibition HERE AND NOW at Museum Ludwig: Transcorporealities in Cologne.
In her work, Haliti intermingles various aesthetics and mundane objects in order to explore horizons, potential agencies, and alternative figurations beyond structural or political boundaries, simple concepts of belonging, and identity-related projections. Her transdisciplinary practice accounts for the diversity and movement of any subject position as well as the interdependencies within a complex net of power relations.
During their visit, Haliti and Radine will organize eye-to-eye meetings with 10 young and emerging artists in Pristina. In these meetings, 10 artists will have the opportunity to get feedback, advice and tips about their artistic work, how it can be developed further. Following these meetings, Qendra Multimedia is also organizing a public conversation in which the two of them will talk about Haliti’s work as well as their mutual projects and journeys.
